REPORTING GUIDE FOR ANALYSIS OF GLUCOSE ESTIMATION

  • DATE =?
  • TITLE = Glucose oxidase peroxidase (GOD-POD) method of Glucose estimation
  • AIM = To estimate quantity of glucose in a given plasma sample
  • MATERIALS =?
  • PRINCIPLE

Color intensity (pinkish) generated at the end of the reaction is directly proportional to the concentration of Glucose in the sample.

  • TABLE OF PROTOCOLS
Pipette into the test tube Test Standard Blank
Glucose Reagent (mL) 1.0 1.0 1.0
Standard (µL) – 10 –
Sample (µL) 10 – –

Mix well and incubate for 10min at 370C and 20min at Room temperature, read the absorbance of standard and test at 505nm.

Concentration of standard in ideal condition = 100mg/dL or 5.5mmol/L for most the reagent pack, though this might be altered during practical classes

Use the formula below to convert glucose concentration from mg/dl to mmo/L.
